Winston has undoubly gotten himself in some irreversible trouble. All good things come to an end when Big Brother finds out that Winston had bought a room to use for sex, thinking there was no camera in it. It is terrible that O'Brien mentally and physically tortures to the point where he tricks himself into trying to love Big Brother. I knew Winston would snap because he is beyond in love with Julia. It was stupid for him to lash out though and scream her name when he knew he was going to get tortured. But I was confused that he would tell O'Brien and the guards to take his punish out on her. If he really loved her he would never let them do that to her. But in the end I do agree with Winston that he should die hating Big Brother because it is better to fight and die for something you really believe yourself with then to die faking something.

After completing chapters 1-6 I have been very interested in the book. These chapters have made me relate things to my everyday life. The whole point of this book is that Big Brother wants to control the minds of everyone and only make them believe what they want to know. Winston is risking his life by altering papers that ensure agreement with the party even though they are false. This hurts Winstons sanity though because he knows that certain events and people have existed and the party tries to erase all history of it. Wisnton ends up meeting a girl named Julia and seems to fall in love with her. He contemplates on pushing his wife Katherine over a cliff to start his new life. I think that Winston likes the affairs that he has with her more than he actually likes her. The room that he rented out with no telescreens was a perfect idea for him. Im excited to continue reading to see what happens between him and Julia.

Chapters 3 through 8 are very intense interesting chapters. The fact that Winston had proof that the party was changing history and that he accidently destroyed is terrible. He obviously is waiting to revolt against big brother and start a riot. I think that it is weird that Winston goes so in depth that thinking if the mind is controllable or not. Also it is good that Winston might be able to rent a room without a telescreen in it. He seems to be freaking out though because he was contemplating on killing a worker who he thought was spying on him.

From reading the first page of the book, I was a little confused at was going on. A character named Winston is introduced in the story. Winston seems to be a lonely depressed character who hates what is happening to London. He suffers daily from a nasty ulcer on his ankle. This ulcer has made him feel sick physically and emotionally. He is depressed in the fact that Big Brother rules London and is told to follow a strict daily routine. Winston vividly describes a dream of his mother and baby sister in a sinking hole that swallows him in water. He starts to recover his feeling that he knows his mother died loving him, and he was to young and selfish to love her back.
